Penally Abbey

We approached the Penally Abbey project with the idea of balancing a number of core values. To be clean and simple yet bold and elaborate. The distinctive brand mark for Penally Abbey avoids the stereotypes of generic Country House branding. The mark conveys the atmosphere of the hotel and its position within the cultural heritage and landscape of the village.

The swirl/spiral can be used to represent the ideas of: unwinding and relaxing, revolving forward and looking back (the next transition of Penally Abbey). A positive symbol of growth as it expands (forever). Its changing width line is representative of ironwork and a retains hand-crafted attention to detail.

The mark sits well with classic typography and strikes an appropriate nod to traditional Roman fonts with timeless quality. So far the new branding has been applied to the logo-mark, business stationery and signage.
